Can I fly at night for recreation?

I read on internet, some say yes, some say no. I dont have part 107.

If I can, on july 4th when my city has fireworks, can I go up high to film the fireworks and put on facebook? I wouldnt get close, just about 300 feet altitude.

Yes. Years ago it required a waiver, but now it's fine as long as these requirements are met

Anti-Collision Lighting: Your drone must have a strobe light visible for at least 3 statute miles.

Visual Line of Sight: You must keep the drone within your sight at all times (or use a co-located visual observer).

Airspace Authorization: If you are in controlled airspace, you must obtain LAANC authorization before takeoff.

TRUST & Registration: You must have passed the TRUST test and registered your drone if it weighs over 250g.

Bro. Flying at night is one thing. TRUST, DroneZone registration, 3 mile lights.

Flying at night on July 4th in your towns fireworks show? Almost every municipality has adopted an ordinance against this specifically; flying near firework shows. Yours is even crazier because this is an organized public event with people below your flight path undoubtedly. At night. Bro.

What do you have? And how much time do you have in it?

Example from Tennessee:

Under Tennessee law (TCA § 39-13-903 and House Bill 153), flying a drone near a fireworks display carries criminal penalties if you do not have explicit permission.
Fireworks Sites: It is a crime to knowingly fly a drone within or over a designated fireworks discharge site, fireworks display site, or fireworks fallout area during an event without the consent of the event's owner or operator.
Open-Air Events: You cannot fly a drone over an open-air event that has the potential to accommodate more than 100 people without the prior consent of the venue owner or operator.
Penalties: Intentionally capturing an image in violation of this law is a Class C misdemeanor. If you distribute, display, or publish those images (such as posting them online), it elevates to a Class B misdemeanor.
