I'm a PPL (MEL) & Part 107 pilot and volunteer with Civil Air Patrol as an sUAS Training Officer with Georgia Wing. While most of our operational work has moved to "Blue" approved platforms, I've appreciated the capabilities of the DJI ecosystem.
Recently, I picked up a Mavic 3 Pro and an older M600P that I've been refurbishing and learning my way around. It looks like my first repair project will be the classic Zenmuse X5 ribbon cable replacement, which I know a number of people here have dealt with. (that said...if someone knows of a Hail Mary
firmware check...etc...it's supposedly a new X5; camera telemetry and gimbal work but no video signal...I've ordered a SD card to see if the camera store images locally)
If anyone here has experience with the M6O0P platform, I'd really appreciate any advice or lessons learned. I'm particularly interested in exploring its
potential for search and rescue and other specialty missions, such as deploying pilot lines across fast-moving water during flood response.
I'm also interested in experimenting with ATAK / iTAK integrations. We have a few devices to potentially be used as high-bird / repeater nodes, and I'd
be interested in collaborating with others working in that space.
If anyone is near Chattanooga, TN, or otherwise interested in discussing SAR applications, TAC integration, or M600 projects, I'd be glad to connect
and compare notes.
