Circumventing height limitations on the Potensic app.

Here I describe the steps to unlock the altitude to a maximum of 800 meters:

Download the Potensic Pro app version 5.9.0. (here's the link https://apkcombo.com/es/potensicpro/com.ipotensic.potensicpro/download/phone-V5.9.0-apk) After installing it, register with any email (don't use your previous account, only new account), and set your country to Australia.

Then log in and then disconnect the internet. After watching the automatic tutorials and entering the settings you will see that the maximum height bar can now be adjusted up to 800, you must accept the disclaimer and that's it.

PS: If you reconnect the internet with the app open, Potensic will ban this option again, limiting it to 120 meters, so always disconnect the internet before opening the app.
I think I briefly spoken with you over on Reddit about the same issue but your comments where removed from the potensic Reddit. I never got around to testing app version. 5.9.0. Do you know if this is doable in the latest version of the app?. All when you say ban do you mean lock the limit back to 120 metres until I do the steps again? I want to be able to have access to the live GPS on the app.

Thanks

If anyone is interested you can bypass the restrictions with a bit of tinkering and with latest app version, you need a VPN and one that supports GPS spoofing. I use Surfshark. I did not have time to test with my UK created account but I did do this with a newly created Australian account via PotensicPro app. I would say it works tho with UK account. I can test this tomorrow.

I believe it will work on any account as the GPS spoof points to where you select the VPN to route to.

Can you do this on iOS

If you are in the US, circumventing the 400' altitude limit is in violation of FAA Part 107 and could get you in hot water unless you have your Part 107 and have applied for an exemption. If your drone is above 250gm you need to have a remote ID Module as well, unless it has one built in, which will broadcast that you are violating the altitude restriction. Don't do the crime if you can't do the time (or fine). It is not worth it.

I’m afraid I wasn’t asking you.

I could care less, it is an open forum. If you don't want everyone to answer your question, then do it in a private message. And that does not change the fact that if you bust the 400' AGL limit you are violating Part 107. It is because of people with your attitude that responsible drone operators have to put up with ever increasing restrictions.

Very late comment I haven't been here since I posted so apologies. I don't know if you can do that on iOS devices as I don't own any. The two VPNs that support GPS Spoofing are Surfshark and windscribe.my Surfshark sub finished and I have yet to test with my windscribe account but will do hopefully tomorrow. I don't see why it would not work with iOS, if the features of GPS spoofing working on android it may well work on iOS. You could try finding that out. I was able to achieve this on the latest firmware at the time.

I just bought the new Atom 2 and it arrived today. So I will do some tests with that drone tomorrow if the weather is good too!
