Unable to trim quadcopter

I am using an inexpensive JJRC H8D quad copter as my basic trainer. I have one I have had for a little while and have a new one. It drifts forward even though I have controller trimmed as far back as possible. Besides moving the CG back with ballast of some variety, are there other techniques to correct this?

I am purchasing a DJI Mavic 2 Pro soon, but wanted to make my learning goofs on something cheap.

Any help would be appreciated.

hello, does it have GPS? and what software are you running?

No, this one is basically a toy. No gps or updatable software. Gyro only.

Hi OldSouthDuffer, most of the basic flight controllers need to be level when you power it on to know where level is, you might try that and have as level spot as possible.
