Trakai Castle is one of the most beautiful and iconic landmarks in Lithuania. Located on an island in Lake Galvė, this medieval fortress looks like a fairytale brought to life.In this video, you’ll experience Trakai Castle from above in stunning 4K drone footage — surrounded by water, bridges, and scenic landscapes. Just 30 km from Vilnius, this peaceful destination offers a unique mix of history, nature, and architecture.Originally built in the 14th century by Grand Duke Kęstutis and later expanded by Vytautas the Great, Trakai Castle played a key role in the Grand Duchy of Lithuania. Today, it stands as one of the most visited tourist attractions in the Baltic region.Trakai is also known for its unique cultural heritage. The Karaites, an ethnic group brought here from Crimea in the 14th century, still preserve their traditions, language, and cuisine. Don’t miss trying kibinai — a traditional savory pastry. If you enjoy travel videos, castles, and cinematic drone footage — this is a place you should definitely add to your list.

Thank you for the beautiful video. My mother's ancestry hails from this region of Lithuania, while my father's background comes from southern Poland. There is a history in my family going back to the time of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth Era. I wish I knew more of the time, although I do have an audio recording of my late grandfather singing a song of the Winged Hussars. I have visited Poland a few years ago and found family relatives in a small village. The Ukraine is also in my ancestry, and I had always hoped to visit there also, but obviously that is not likely to happen any time in the foreseeable future.

Amazing story! Happy to cheer You up with some memories! :) Yeah, I also got a brother in Ukraine, but it's kinda complicated to visit him in nearest time. But I'll hope everything will be alright in a nearest future!
