I have an ATOM SE that I recently bought second hand, but new, so it didn't fall under Potensic's warranty. It's my first drone but I have fixed and designed similar stuff that carries people for a while now.
When I flew it, it seemed to resist commands to descend and would not hold altitude well in a hover. I found that the sensors on the bottom were partially covered with plastic because the holes in the lower cover and sensors didn't align. Removing the cover was going to involve a bit more disassembly than I cared to do so I just nipped the cover in a bit of a messy way as shown in the attachment, taking care not to damage the sensors. This cleared up the issue and the drone flies really well now. I was actually able to inspect my chimney very closely today in 15 MPH winds after just a few minutes of practice.
It's odd that the altitude indication on the display seemed reasonable when the fault existed.
