Do you know what features you want? What's your primary purpose for purchasing the drone? There are so many factors. If you just want to give video drone photography or FPV racing there are 2 very different schools of thought. For a good entry level drone with a decent camera, good warranty and repair service (this is important) plus most of the automated functions like return to home automatically should the drone lose communication with the remote controller. Or stabilized flight that is helpful for beginners. I would suggest Potensic Atom 4k which should be less than $300. Or DJI Mini 4k (around $300 depending on options). If you want to spend a little more and gain collision avoidance, get DJI 3 Pro or DJI 4 Pro ($400_$700). Autel makes the Nano which has a exceptional camera but I'm not familiar with their warranty and repair program. Autel tends to be a little more expensive than similar DJI models. I would avoid most of the various Temu junk. You may or may not get working drone but you will never get service or repair unless it's one of the above mentioned brands. Few if any drones below $200 are anything more than poorly executed toys.
If you can be more specific I could possibly make better suggestions. I mentioned FPV type drones that are typically used with FPV goggles. The DJI Avata is the only one I've ever flown. It was super fun, but I don't know enough about FPV to recommend anything. Good luck, have a truly blessed day.

Just starting the drone journey. I'm looking for knowledge about drones.

Welcome from the Hampton Roads area of Virginia, USA.

If you have not already done so, you will need to get your TRUST Certificate to fly a drone. You can get that at the Pilot Institute Web Site (FREE…)

@Brutalwarpig has given you a lot of great advice and now you need to decide what you want to do, what you want the drone to do, and how much you are willing/able to spend…

YouTube is a great source of information on the various makes and models of drone. You will see the actual drone is use and learn of their capabilities and limitations.

Just remember, some of those YouTube posters are "influencers" and get paid to endorse various drones, so if you are looking at one make or model of drone and check many other posters.

Another good source are the reviews of the various drones that you will see advertised on Amazon… Remember, folks who do not like something are more prone to post a review than one who is happy with a product.

Since you live in Nebraska and if you have a Facebook presence, then here is the link to "Nebraska Drone Pilot Group" Talk to folks who live near you…

Good Luck!
