I recently acquired a Voyager Ai Drone. my first one ever. I have included a picture of the drone and controller. This drone did not come with an instruction manual so I have no idea what many of the controller buttons do. The website indicated on the box, aidronesusa.com, either does not work or the website no longer exists. I’ve looked for information for this particular drone and controller on the internet with no success at all, so I’m hoping someone can help me out. I understand what the left and right joy sticks do but a lot of the other functions are what I need help with. As I understand, a person is supposed to make sure the drone and the controller are calibrated before every flight. With no information available, I’m at a loss as to how to do this. Also, if there is any way to reset everything back to factory settings, It would be greatly appreciated to know how to do this also.

Features of this unit include: altitude hold, photo & video function, headless mode, auto return, roll 360ᵒ flights, and 6-axis gyroscope. This drone does not fold down to a smaller unit nor does it have any collision avoidance features that I’m aware of. I randomly numbered the function buttons on the controller for simplicity of explanation. What I do know about this controller is as follows: The center slide switch #9 turns the unit on and off. Button 1 starts and stops video. Button 17 takes .jpg pictures. Button 2 makes the drone motors rotate at a slow speed. Buttons 3 & 4 move the camera one direction or the other. I do not know the purpose of the rectangular contact switches, 5-6, 7-8, 10-11, 12-13, unless they pertain to trim. I also do not know the function of the last 3 buttons on the lower right of the controller, 14, 15, and 16. The only time I tried to make the drone fly, it crashed just seconds after takeoff. With the drone motors running slowly, I pushed the left joystick upwards very slowly. I expected a gradual increase in propeller speed, but that was not the case. It went from the motors idling to full speed instantly! When that happened, I released the left joy stick but the drone did a full power takeoff and traveled through a 20 ft. arc and crashed upside down. I’m glad that the field was covered with thick tall grass as the drone was not damaged. So, if you can help or have any ideas, it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

I’m not sure if this is your voyager drone. If it is not, a model number would be helpful. Here is a link to one of their drones.
Hello and thank you very much for responding. I will address both of your replies as I inadvertently missed your first reply. My drone model number is DR650. I tried looking it up by typing "Voyager DR650 drone" but never found anything associated with my drone or controller. I did find out that Suzuki has a DR650 motorcycle though. The two URL's you sent may have some very useful information that may apply to my drone and may prove beneficial. I have no manual for my drone and am looking forward to see what your two links offer. I really appreciate the information.

I am sorry; I cannot help you with your Drone, I Googled "Voyager Ai Drone" and even found some postings that you have made out on the Web, which was what I was going to recommend…

I can only advise you to keep doing the same, you might sooner or later find someone still flying this drone or at least someone knowledgeable in its operation.

I also tried looking at YouTube and I again found nothing of consequence. I do not know if you have a very old drone or one that had a very limited production run.

Good Luck!

I truly appreciate the help you have already given me. This drone may be a lost cause as I just discovered that the right front motor stays at an idle while the other three motors are revved up. Without any documentation, I think I'm at a roadblock. As this is my first experience with a drone, would you have any recommendations for a camera drone that wouldn't break the bank? I'm sure the DJI drones are really nice but I can't warrant spending that kind of money. I would really like to experience a drone cooperating the way it should.

Greetings from Birmingham Alabama USA, welcome to the forum! We look forward to hearing from you!

I found the term "AiDrone" on a web page for professional machines

but I'm not sure that yours is one of those. Possibly a trademark copyright has been infringed, and yours is the victim. On your controller numbers 5-8 and 10-13 are joystick trimmers. For the throttle control, you need to establish the functionality. If it is spring-loaded to centre, then the idea is to push up to increase altitude and let go when required altitude is reached. Similarly push down and let go to descend to a specific lower altitude. The trimmer is for when the altitude drifts up or down. If the throttle is not spring-loaded (old-fashioned), then you have a pure throttle control which has to be carefully manipulated all the time (never just switch off completely)

Thank you for your reply. Both joysticks are spring-loaded return to center. I was thinking that those switches were for trimming, but wasn't sure. After more checking, I've found that the right front motor does not increase in speed as the other three do when the left joystick is pushed upward for lift. It remains at idle, if you will. I changed the motor with the other of the same rotation and the problem was once again at the left front. I'm not getting the necessary signal from the control board on the drone. This drone may be a basket case. If only 3 of the 4 motors respond to the controller input, then the drone will never be steady or flyable. I'm open to any and all suggestions, even if it means to move on and buy another platform.

Ok, After reading these comments i feel bad about your situation and all i can say is move on and pursue your goal of having a great time learning (as i am myself new too) and enjoy your new fun hobby. This is what i did and will pass it on to you hoping it will put a smile on your face. Go where i did and get what i got at this super price and the best part is its like it was never used other than a aprox. 80% on the 2 batteries. Awesome deal and i'm very happy to pay this for being a beginner. Then check out the youtube reviews and tutorials like i did! theres plenty. Heres the ebay look up for "used" drones. A seller botasy1988 had them at these prices aprox. I went to the potensic link i was going to give you and its not showing the ones i got from this seller. Hopefully you will see these ones on sale that im talking about. if not? then go to toys/hobbys on the look up list then potensic drones and see what you find. (I hope its ok to mention this on here?) and look at the deals on the "fly more"! I got mine for 162 w/tax and came with extras (except the charger) like if new! Anyway i Hope this helps and gets you flying soon!
