I really appreciate everyone's suggestions concerning this frustrating wifi connection problem on other threads. I tried every suggestion to no avail using my Galaxy Express Phone (SM-J337A).

However, when I experimented using my Samsung tablet (sm-t380) I was able to see and connect to HolyStoneFPV-1ce3afD. So the drone is transmitting fine.

When I checked www.gsmarena.com for the full specs, I noticed a difference in the Wifi:

Galaxy Express Phone SM-J337A
WLAN Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Wi-Fi Direct, hotspot

Galaxy Tablet sm-t380
WLAN Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, dual-band, Wi-Fi Direct, hotspot

I am assuming 802.11a has 5G wifi, since my tablet finds HolyStoneFPV-1ce3afD with no problem.

I did an exhaustive search on Google, blogs, Ebay, Amazon, etc. for any used/refurbished unlocked smartphones under $50, that had 802.11 a/b/g/n and was unsuccessful.

Does anyone know of a used unlocked smartphone under $50 that has 802.11a ?

Thanks in advance :)

UPDATE

I just hooked up the Motorola Moto E6, downloaded Ophelia Go from Google play and was able to connect to the drone. I gave it a test and I am thrilled that it works fine :D(y)

If you need a cheap phone to do attach to the controller, you may want get one as well. I paid $40 at Amazon and took the SIM out:
