Hi all,

I am looking for a drone around the $ 1, 000 mark (perhaps cheaper?) that has a remote control screen that displays real-time drone GPS position. The DJI Mini 3 remote control does not. The JMR-V1650HZ agricultural drone from JMRRC does show real-time drone GPS position on its remote control screen however this drone type is not what I am after, something smaller and cheaper rather, point is there are remote controls that show real-time drone GPS position on their screens.

I also need the remote control screen to be able to be shown on a PC, via a HDMI cable? If anyone can help me out that will be great,

Best of regards,

Joe.

Do you need high positional accuracy? If you need the position information to be more precise than standard GPS accuracy, then you may need a RTK system. I use a SIYI MK32 ground station which can be set to provide real time gps coordinates but this is for people who build custom drones. There are a couple companies that will build a custom drone for you with whatever functionality you need. You could probably get a custom drone for under $1000. RC Wing, IR Lock, etc offer this service. I'm not sure which if any consumer drones under $1000 offers this functionality.

Hi BWP,

Thanks for the reply. I need I guess standard GPS coordinates. I will have a look at those companies that make custom made drones. I noticed with consumer drones they don't do ground stations anymore where you can control the drone manually (DJI and Skydio at least). For what I need I am required to manually control the drone from a PC. If these custom drone companies can do this that will be great, otherwise I need to probe the remote control. All good...

This is the SIYI HM30. This system has a 10-30km range, connects to a pc and you can configure the system with ArduPilot or Qgroundcontrol. It comes with the Air Unit which is the receiver/transmitter that goes in the drone. You can certainly do everything you mentioned with this system. However, there is a fairly substantial learning curve. I taught myself how to build and program drones. I did not start with small FPV drones. I started with very large quadcopters and hexacopters. I use a lot of SIYI stuff and have been happy with their technology and support. You can buy these drones already built but having a good understanding of the system will be helpful. ardupilot.org is pretty much where I started. The other pic is of MissionPlanner which is a program you can use to configure hardware, create autopiloted missions or manually control a drone. This will display heading, speed, position, live video feed, battery charge level and many other parameters. Any sensor or device you can think of such as a 3D scanner that will create a real-time 3D point cloud, lidar, millimeter wave radar, package winch or release system etc. The possibilities are almost limitless.

Thanks BWP for the detailed reply, I will look into it all...
