Hi all. I'm a new member from Reno, NV. I recently got an Atom SE with the case, charger and 3 batteries. It is technically my second drone, but the first $20 one was so hard to fly and battery life so short, it sat unused.
The Atom SE is a much better beginner drone! I've been flying around the yard (1 acre) and out on BLM land. Out in the open it is great. I can fly around the trucks, trailers, sheds and even the horses even in some wind. Inside, even just in the 3 sided horse shelters, it doesn't do so well. Not having a way to manually switch to Off GPS results in freakish behavior inside when it gains or loses signal. I've haven't gotten the hang of that yet and will be sticking with outside flight for a while. That is really what I wanted it for anyway. The indoor flights were for testing, and they mostly went terribly wrong. lol
I've only had one long flight, out to a distance of 2500 ft. The signal was good if I didn't get behind trees or trucks. I'm still figuring things out and don't want to run out of battery too far away. I have read that the auto return can be too slow.
