Hi everyone im Sam from southeast england I have owned a few drones over the last year and currently have an inspire 2
The reason im here is see what this community is all about and hopefully to get some advice info on a project which i am trying to acheive

So I built a very cheap prototype 6dof simulator for racing games about 7 years ago which can also be used as a flight sim and would really like to use the live IMU data from my drone to drive the sim and maybe eventually use a joy sitck etc to control the drone

Im not exactly sure what i need in terms of software etc but the idea is to use that data to create a "game patch" used in simtools (the simulator program) and hopefully get someone from xsimulator.net (a motion simulator community) to write a patch for it

So if there is anyone who can offer any advice or assistance or anyone who knows where to point me I would love to hear from you

I doubt you will be able to use your DJI drone simply because they keep all flight controller access locked down with passwords that they will never give you. You could buy a RTF Betaflight quad or you could build an ArduPilot or INAV based drone then use a stand alone IMU connected to a UART port on your flight controller with a data logging function. If you buy a cheap Betaflight flight controller and connect it to Betaflight on a PC the first screen you see shows a virtual representation of a quad that will move in real-time as you move the quad around. Are you looking for a live IMU feed from a drone that's in flight? This would be more difficult in that you would need to set up data logging to be sent back via telemetry to a ground station that is connected to a PC. You would most likely need to be using ArduPilot or PX4 and a Mavlink protocol transmitter/receiver combo. The SIYI HM30 would work well. I would recommend building everything yourself so that you can understand the hardware and firmware if you are serious about the project.
