I was out flying when some gusty wind picked up. I came in for a landing and the wind blew my drone into trees.. The drone fell to the ground and started on fire. An $800 dollar Flightelf Spectre.

Planning on getting another drone. But should I get another Flightelf? I really liked that drone.

Bad luck, but fire was the result of physical damage to the battery. That same damage could have happened to any other drone, so that in itself would not steer you away from your favoured brand. You could perhaps scour the competition offerings to find something that was better at avoiding trees.
