I have two batteries for my Potensic Atom drone. I flew about two weeks ago and fully charged both batteries when I got home. The batteries are stored in my warm home. I checked both batteries today as I am going flying tomorrow and was a bit shocked to see they were both down to around 50% capacity. Does that seem normal? I would have expected them to still have 90 - 95% left. The drone and batteries were both purchased a month ago.

It's normal

Smart batteries. They self-discharge after some period of inactivity to preserve cell life and (maybe) reduce fire risk. I’m not sure how long exactly, but it’s around a week. My Atom2 does the same thing, as do all of my DJI drones.

For some, once they go into “storage mode” you actually can’t use them unless you first connect them to a charger to “wake them up”. This probably varies between manufacturers but I seem to recall the Atom manual mentioning it. Most of us wouldn’t even want to launch on 50% battery anyway, but good to know in case it surprises you ; )
