Attention US drone owners (r/c too!).

Utah's Senator Lee is at it again with his "Drone Integration and Zoning Act" bill.

DSP Alliance and other organizations were informed of this yesterday. Kenji and I are working with some other organizations to put together a unified approach to make sure this bill doesn't become law once it's submitted.

Stay tuned.

There are so many assumed negative connotations that the general public in general and the government in particular attaches to drones that the recreational flyer is literally checkmated in many instances. Now the phony holier-than-thou hypocrite from Utah is sticking his nose in it. Pretty soon all drone activity will be totally government-controlled and our hobby will be destroyed by these assumptions.

In Texas, it is technically impossible to fly a drone recreationally ANYTIME ANYWHERE due to the fact that state law mandates that you cannot take photos or video of any private property without the owner's express permission. How many times have you flown your quad when you weren't photographing private property somewhere?? This law hasn't been totally tested in court to the best of my knowledge but, potentially, this law could lead to the banning of drones being flown recreationally altogether in Texas.

As drone flyers, we need to stick together and flex whatever muscle we can to fight these oppressive and draconian measures. Contribute to or join the DPSA. Write your senators and congressional representatives. We must fight for the sport we love if we want to keep it.
