Purchasing on Amazon with Asurion protection plan

I may have made a confusing statement. The Asurion product plan DOES cover the drone as it is indeed considered to be a portable product. So yes, although I have not yet crashed and filed a claim, I am encouraged that if I do it will help cover the cost of repairs. Thanks, -Ron

Maximum Altitude Restriction for Holy Stone Drones - 393 feet AGL

As a new HS600 owner I was surprised to see that my drone was limited to a maximum Flight Altitude of 393 feet AGL. There is no option available to override this setting, even when turning off Beginner mode and setting the option "Remove the Distance limit." I asked Holy Stone support and they...

Flying around Brooklyn - Is it really that restricted?

The restrictions around the New York City boroughs seem to be quite limiting. Evidently you are limited to only two Model Aircraft Fields (see https://www.nycgovparks.org/facilities/modelaircraftfields). Outside of those two locations you must have a permit and applying for a permit costs $150...

    Drone software updates?

Holy Stone support responded saying that updating the software/firmware within the drone itself is not currently possible. At least not at this time, not after delivery to the consumer.

    Holy Stone Support?

Well, [email protected] finally did respond about 7 business days after sending them an email!

    FREE Drone Checklist

I checked with HS Support and they confirmed that climbing to 23' to provide a downward view of the landing location is NOT needed for the HS600 as it does not acquire such an image for RTH purposes. I suspect that this is a dji procedure.

Sorve Lighthouse in the Fog – Looks Absolutely Mint!

Regarding the first video showing the lighthouse in the fog... Why is this legal? It appears that there was less than 3 miles of visibility. Thanks, -Ron

    Holy Stone Support?

I've sent a technical question to [email protected] but have not heard back after 5 business days. How do you successfully contact Holy Stone support? Or do you use the phone number US: +1 (833) 766-4733 ? Have you had better response from reaching them through WhatsApp chat? Is there a forum...

Purchasing on Amazon with Asurion protection plan

I purchased my HS600 drone on Amazon and bought the Asurion damage protection plan at the same time. After reading the terms of the protection plan it seemed like a good deal, especially since I'm a first-time drone flyer. The cost was about $35. There is an exclusion in the agreement as...

    Drone software updates?

When the software (firmware) on board the drone needs to be updated, how is this done? Does the HS Fly App carry this payload (as needed) and deliver it when it next connects to the drone? Thanks! -Ron

    New To Holy Stone

Take a serious look at the HS600. It has a 4K (Sony chip) camera and a 2 axis gimbal. It is very stable in flight due to the excellent GPS and software, and in part to its heavier weight. It appears that the HS600 checks all your boxes and it is available on Amazon at a very good price. (Right...

    FREE Drone Checklist

Hello to my fellow Holy Stone Drones community members! I've never flown a drone and have just purchased the HS600. I've flown it successfully a few times now and am enjoying it a lot! I'm also a private pilot. We always use a checklist to prepare for each phase of flight so naturally I was...

    Newbie Question

I read somewhere that you should set your phone to Airplane mode with WiFi On and Blue Tooth Off. This was suggested as a way to reduce signal interference and improve communication to the drone. If you are loosing connectivity at 400 ft, try this tip and let us know if it helps. Thanks, -Ron

    Remote/Phone

When you are using this VR headset can you see anything other than the HS Fly App? In other words, you do not have direct line of site to the drone? Thus, you must have a VO standing next to you? Thanks, -Ron
