I've been flying drones for a while starting with the "toy drones" that cost from $50-200 that are rough to control given simple electronics. My Holy stone hs100 is giving me problems with the battery indicator icon saying battery is dead when it's not. All 3 batteries the same. Afraid to fly without keeping an eye on the battery light on the drone itself. I mean isn't that what the icon on the fpv screen is for? Holy stone washed their hands of this drones they're telling me. Ideas?. Batteries are new or almost new.

Welcome from the Hampton Roads area of Virginia, USA. I ma sorry but I do not have a solutions. A few suggestions, but that's it. Delete the app on your phone (or other device) make sure your device is not loaded down with a whole bunch of extraneous apps. Delete or save all old music or photos. And do a "health checkup" on your device. Your health checkup would be in the setup of your phone and it might be called "clean and sweep" or something else to delete old files and clean up memory. Then reload the HS app and check all its settings are correct such as max height, distance, return to home, etc… and perhaps this might clear things up.

My experience like this was with my first a drone. The battery indicator was all over the place and when the battery got low, the drone gave me just 30-seconds warning before landing where it was… I took an old phone and ran the clock timer on it so that I had an audible warning that I was coming to the end of the batteries life so I had time to bring it home…

Saving that, perhaps it is time to just keep flying it until you can't then upgrade out of the toy class of drones.

Good Luck!
