Remember that each time the drone is turned off, it will go back to beginner moe which means speed at meium. Even a battery change causes this to happen. Amazon has a lot of spare parts available for the HS drones. Good luck.

Yes. I use an old 3G phone without a SIM card and it works just fine. I do have an older drone which uses the 2.4 Ghz wifi, but it does not require a cell tower connection to communicate to the drone.

About your wifi with your phone. Forget the 5G. That is just the generation of the service the phone companies use. Your drone is probably using 5Ghz which is the frequency that it communicates on. The phone service in the area does not matter. I control mine with a phone with no SIM card...

Sounds good. Just make sure it has 5 Ghz wifi. Does not work well with 2.4 Ghz wifi.

I used a Samsung J7. I was using my S10e and switched to the J7 for the same reason you don't want use yours.

Hi, A 5G phone does not guarantee 5 Ghz WiFi. WiFi can transmit on two frequencies; 5 Ghz and 2.4 Ghz. Not all 5G (fifth generation of the network) have 5 Ghz WiFi capability. Check the specs of the phone before buying for use with a drone needing 5 Ghz. Hope this helps.

I took the TRUST training and test yesterday. It was very easy and only took about an hour. There are 4 sections and questions after each section. You have unlimited attempts to get the answers correct. I am now legal.

I use the SD adapter that came with my micro SD card. Just put the micro SD in the adapter and put the adapter in the SD card slot on laptop. Copy files to computer This is not my card, just an example of the adapter. No need to tell me it is too big.

The beginner mode turns on every time I turn on the app and I have to turn it off and set the distance each time. I am not sure if this is happening to your drone. But it is worth a look.
